DETAILS: Here at Hebrides.ca, we are putting together the ultimate book to celebrate our Lewis/Eastern Townships of Quebec (ETQ)/Ripley heritage. Including a complete guide, scrapbook, biography, history, Chronology, folk, stats, photographs, the exiles list, and everything else we can fit in one book.
PERKS: With the crowd funding campaign you will have many options/perks. As an example you donate $50 and you ensure that you get 1/4 page of space reserved for your family bio/story/photo, $100 with get you a half page etc. More to follow... Although I have a large database (30,000) and resources of all our ancestors who left the Isle of Lewis, so without this little Crowd funding campaign - there is no guarantee they will make it in the book.
* For people who donate $50 or more but do not contribute to the book will receive a copy of the book and 20 minute Documentary DVD.
PUBLISHING: The book will be Professionally Published and first print run will be 200 copies available. The minimum pages before Crowd Funding will be 128 pages and maximun of 160-170 pages. There is no set price set, but roughly 44.99
DATE: After a successful campaign, each person who contributes would have 90 days to email me all the necessary info additional 30 days for revisions. If we don’t make our goal, the book will still be published. The Publishing date would be 4-6 months from end of campaign. Spring 2016
WHO WE ARE: This book will be Published by Hebrides.ca and compiled by Leodhas Macleod. Leodhas Macleod has compiled 6 books and co-Aurthur with Angus Macleod for his book;1851 Exiles. Leodhas Macleod has been listed in a bibliography in 2 two books; Jim Hunter’s Clan Macleod commissioned Scottish Exodus book and Lucille H. Campey: Les Ecossis: Pioneer of Scots of Lower Canada. Both Lingwick Crofts and Winslow-Stornoway crofts by Leodhas Macleod were requested by the Nation Library of Scotland to be housed in Edinburgh.
MARKET: For anyone interested in Scotland, Highlands & Islands, Scots-Gaelic, genealogy, Quebec, Bruce County, Ontario - I welcome anyone to contribute and be a part of history. This book will be donated to all National Library's.
